Most Councils will increase their application fees for development applications and infrastructure charges on 1 July 2017. We expect most of the increases to be in-line with inflation at around 2%.
To avoid paying the higher development application fees, you may wish to lodge your development applications on or before 30 June this year. Likewise, if you have received an infrastructure charges notice, consider paying the amount before the end of this financial year. Importantly, be sure to allow two clear days for the payment as Council or the utility provider (SEQ Water, Unity Water) often need the extra time to generate an invoice first.
