Brisbane City Council has announced changes in Infrastructure Charges Resolution (No. 8) 2019, effective from July 1, 2019.
Here’s a quick summary of the key changes
- Council’s infrastructure charges are in alignment with the Planning Regulation 2017
- Council has clarified how the current market value of required land is to be calculated
- There is an option for processing recalculation of an establishment cost for required land in a more flexible and timely manner
- There are process improvements that support requests for refunds relating to a trunk infrastructure contributions.
It’s important to note, increased infrastructure charges only affect development approvals given on, and from, 1 July 2019. Any infrastructure charges notices given on or before 30 June 2019 will not be impacted by these changes.
